Almond Chocolate Fudge Brownies
1/2 cup butter
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2/3 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup sliced almonds
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 8x8x2-inch baking pan with foil, extending foil 1-inch beyond sides of pan. Grease foil.
In medium saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, eggs, and almond extract. Beat lightly with wooden spoon just until combined.
Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle with almonds. Bake 20 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on wire rack. Lift brownies out of pan using the foil. Cut into bars.
Makes about 16 brownies.
